A global leader in the design and manufacture of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Bedfordshire. Specialising in both mobile and fixed Ground Power Units, this site pioneers eco-friendly solutions for aviation, with equipment in service across 60+ countries.

This is an opportunity to work on next-generation GSE that supports everything from general aviation to wide-body aircraft. You’ll collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and service teams to bring robust, efficient, and sustainable equipment to market.

Mechanical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical system design using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)

• Chassis and structural design for heavy-duty applications

• ERP/BOM management and documentation

• Prototype support, testing, and continuous improvement

• Collaboration across sourcing, service, and production

As a ​​​​​​​Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng)

• 3D CAD proficiency & solid mechanical design skills

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods (machining, welding, fabrication)

• Experience in chassis design, cable routing, or heavy equipment is a plus

• Understanding of sustainable or electric-powered systems is beneficial
