A successful, privately-owned technology business in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire are looking for a capable Mechanical Design Engineer to join their research and development team. This organisation designs and manufactures complex imaging products for security and aerospace industries.
The Mechanical Design Engineer job would suit an individual that is happy carrying out anything from complex design work to simple drafting tasks. The successful candidates will product work that is of high quality and on time in line with project deadlines.
Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer job:
- New product design and development
- 3D modelling (SolidWorks is used), design analysis, drafting and prototype building
- Supplier and customer communications, product testing and production support.
Key skills / experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer job:
- Proven product development experience and a passion for mechanical design
- Solid experience using 3D CAD packages to produce high quality drawings
- Rapid prototyping, injection moulding and FEA experience would be beneficial
- Degree qualified / strong academics required.
