NEW MECHANICAL DESIGN JOB IN CAMBRIDGE!
A global leader in embedded computers and sensor technology are looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosures into their R&D team in Cambridge.
The Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosures will be responsible for the design of products for rugged / harsh environments and you will be working across the full product development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosures job:
- Designing enclosures for use in industrial applications
- Product definition and specification according to customer requirements
- Developing prototypes
- Detailed development including calculations, analysis, and structural / thermal simulation
- Design for Manufacturing / Assembly
- Liaise with manufacturers, customers and other departments internally
Key skills / experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosures job:
- Proficient user of 3D CAD software
- Proven experience in product specification in accordance with customer needs
- Good knowledge of design for various materials, assembly technologies and machining methods
- Experience of designing enclosures for high-speed or high-power electronics
- Any FEA experience would be beneficial
