This is an exciting time for Power Supply Design Engineers.
New components and topologies are allowing technology companies to push the boundaries of what you can do with typical power supplies which means new, ground-breaking products are starting to hit the market.
My client develop high-performance electronic components which are used in high-voltage power-conversion systems, enabling compact, energy-efficient AC-DC power supplies for a vast range of electronic products.
They are based in Cambridge and are looking for a bright, hungry Power Supply Design Engineer who wants to see exactly how far they can take this technology.
The Power Supply Design Engineer will have the following competencies:
·Strong analytical and practical skills.
·Good understanding of common power conversion topologies for off-line use including flyback, forward and half bridge; both on analytical level as well as through practical experience.
·Magnetics design knowledge and experience.
·Control loop theory and practice in the context of switch-mode power supplies.
·Software / Simulation tools for modelling power supplies such as Mathcad, Matlab, Simplis, Plecs
The ideal Power Supply Design Engineer will have the following qualifications and experience:
·Bsc or Msc in electronics or electrical engineering.
·1-3 years practical experience
·Experience in specifying and developing SMPS
