Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Physicist to support and input to Technology and Product Development (T&PD) projects covering:
- Instrument and experimental design
- Planning and execution of experiments
- Analysis of data
- Modelling
- Formulation and presentation of conclusions and Report writing

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide scientific input to the design, build and testing of experimental equipment.
- Plan and conduct original research for the purposes of design and performance enhancement.
- Critically appraise experimental data and theory and provide guidance based on interpretation of data.
- Identify gaps and propose additional work.
- Contribute to project planning and review activities.
- Support scientific aspects of products throughout their lifecycle.
- Manage own time and work with a high degree of autonomy. May lead work of a technician.
- Provide support to off-site trials and tests.
- Work in accordance with local company policies and procedures.
- Provide hands-on support and up-to-date technical advice to Technical Authorities and Product Managers, at proposal, design specification, development, testing and production stages and assist in bid preparation.
- Have a good working knowledge of relevant products and technologies and an understanding of other detection technologies and products.
Required skills and experience
- Degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry or similar discipline
- Experience in experimental design in academic / industrial environment
- Holding a PhD is a great advantage
- Previous practical experience with mass spectrometry, ion mobility spectrometry, microscopy, X-Ray or similar technologies could be an asset
- Excellent data management and analytical skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- Clear and critical thinker
- Good presentation skills
- Team player attitude
