Most importantly, what would he be working on?

We have two new hardware families being developed.

1. New retail body camera.

Here you will be responsible for the hardware architecture, schematics, layout and verification of this new camera. You will report to the CTO and will be supported by the embedded systems team for all things relating to firmware.

As well as the body camera itself there are intelligent docking & charging solutions that need to be developed.

2. Upgraded aggregator device.

We have an existing aggregator used to connect up to 84 body cameras to a single Gigabit Ethernet port. This is now an old design and it needs to be updated to a new CPU and IO architecture, as well as to support embedded storage. As per the body

camera, you'll report to the CTO and be supported by the embedded systems team.

In addition to the new designs there are ongoing activities relating to existing designs or designs that are currently approaching mass production. Here you will work with the existing hardware engineering team to help identify issues and design mitigations for them.

Finally, working with the CTO deliver an improved hardware development process that helps improve the quality of the designs we produce, reducing field failures and unexpected issues. A focus on documentation, test planning and test execution will be required.
