About the Role:

As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer within TAE Power Solutions, you will be involved at all stages of the design and development process. You will liaise directly with internal customers, and the other TAE Power Solutions engineering teams, to support the delivery of effective engineering solutions. Support from inception, development, and release of power electronic system designs across a broad range of company projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design of power electronic units and/or systems incorporating low level analog, digital and high speed switching circuits, as well high power MOSFETs including Silicon Carbide FETs
  • Completion of detailed design analysis and simulations
  • Generation of detailed electronic design schematics
  • Support and guidance of PCB design layouts
  • Support of prototype builds, system integration and testing
  • Generation of design verification documents to confirm compliance with national and international standards
  • Support of functional safety compliance for safety critical systems at a hardware level
  • Adherence to company engineering standards to ensure necessary levels of design quality
  • Creation of project documentation in accordance with company processes and procedures
  • Delivery of unit and system FMEA and other electronics design validation activities
  • Generation of and delivery to detailed electronic development plans
  • Delivery of engineering tasks in line with project milestones
  • Support of project level engineering change control activities
  • Support of product development through full design lifecycle to fully validated and production ready maturation levels
  • Close collaboration with other engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art innovative and practical solutions

Required Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Degree qualified in Power Electronics Engineering or similar
  • Electronic hardware design experience

Desired:

  • High-performance, high-reliability industry experience – Automotive, Motorsport or Aerospace product development desirable
  • Understanding of electronic design requirements
  • High voltage and high power electronic system design experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated and enjoy working within a team environment
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and take on challenges to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A self-starter and self-motivated
  • Good presentation, report writing and communication skills
