Key Responsibilities for the Production Maintenance Engineer job:
- Provide rapid response and technical assistance in resolving equipment and plant faults (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
- Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair activities to reduce downtime and improve equipment effectiveness.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Execute planned maintenance activities on jigs, fixtures, production machinery, and associated plant equipment.
Main Duties and Team Collaboration for the Production Maintenance Engineer job:
- Work closely with production teams to improve equipment functionality and implement operational changes.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production operatives.
- Ensure all modifications and improvements meet quality, health, and safety standards.
Required Experience and Skills for the Production Maintenance Engineer job:
- HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 4, or time-served apprenticeship in Engineering or Electronics.
- Strong hands-on experience in fault-finding and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Proficient in lean manufacturing principles.
- Confident working unsupervised and managing multiple projects.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with automation and injection moulding machinery.
- Experience with Six Sigma methodology and/or SolidWorks CAD software.
- Proven leadership and training experience within an engineering team.
