The Company:
ProPhotonix is an expert designer and manufacturer of laser and LED systems for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) across a wide range of applications including machine vision, UV curing, medical equipment, and security applications.
Established in 1951, ProPhotonix is headquartered in Salem, New Hampshire, USA, and has ISO-certified production facilities in Cork, Ireland, and Essex, U.K. At our Cork facility, we design and manufacture LED lighting for a diverse range of applications. At our UK facility, we design and manufacture diode laser modules and systems for applications including inspection, sorting, patient alignment, and industrial. We are an SME looking to grow market share in our key markets.
The Role:
Following our recent acquisition in 2021, changes to our production management team, and business recovery from the pandemic, we are recruiting for new team members to add to our production team.
We are looking for individuals with a range of experience with the following skills;
• Soldering electronic components (essential skill) • Gluing in a production environment • Testing, using typical equipment • Can follow detailed works instructions • Can use standard tools associated with light electro-mechanical assembly • Capable of working as part of a team • Excellent attention to detail • Excellent dexterity • Excellent hand-eye coordination • Good, clear, communication skills – written and verbal.
The duties of the role include but are not limited to;
• Carrying out assembly tasks to the specified quality and build-time • Operating test equipment • Hand soldering of wires and components to PCBs • Following all health & safety and anti-static regulations • Keeping work area clean and tidy • Attending and participating in any production progress meetings • Taking part in continuous improvement activities as directed.
