AMAZING OPPORTUNITY FOR A QHSE ENGINEER TO JOIN A LEADING ELECTRONICS CLIENT NEAR BRIDGEND!!
A leading design and manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical machinery are seeking an experienced QHSE Engineer to join their growing R&D centre in Bridgend, Wales (near Cardiff). This company has been running for nearly 30 years, they operate across the UK, Europe and USA. Their technology is vital to rail, aerospace, telecoms, medical, and automotive industry companies. We are currently in the process of expanding their manufacturing Team.
A vacancy has arisen for a QHSE Engineer within the operations group. Reporting to the Operations Director this position will provide guidance and oversight to the day-to-day regulatory activity.
The responsibilities for the QHSE Engineer consist of:
• Co-ordinating, controlling and carrying out periodic internal quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 certification requirements, and manage external quality audits as required by the assessment body.
• Ensure the up-to-date maintenance of quality records and manuals; define and introduce new and revised quality procedures as required.
• Conduct regular management quality review meetings to report on quality issues and take whatever action is necessary as a result.
• Ensure prompt corrective and preventative action is taken regarding all quality procedures so as to ensure continued compliance with quality standards.
• Act as main company representative for health and safety issues.
• Conduct induction training relating to health and safety.
• Carry out in-house risk assessments, health and safety inspections. Coordination of First Aid members and act as Fire Warden – fire extinguisher inspection, fire alarm testing, fire drills and insurance visits.
What skills and experience is required from you for the QHSE Engineer role:
• Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum affiliate member of IoSH, associate member (AIoSH) preferred.
• Strong verbal and precise written communications skills to engage with internal and external contacts, effectively gather information and express instructions clearly.
• Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail with excellent planning skills to manage time, resources and conflicting / changing priorities to meet deadlines.
