Quality Engineer

The Quality team forms a key role within STS Defence. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality and Compliance the position will work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure compliance to AS9100 and assuring product to customer specification.

The Quality Engineer will contribute to the maintenance of the company’s Business Management Systems. The successful candidate will be involved in driving the highest quality standards throughout all of our operations.

 Responsibilities:

• Product focused assurance activities ensuring compliance to customer requirements. Ensure adherence to specific process controls, certifications and qualifications
• Facilitate internal non-conformance reports to conclusion using Quality RCA tools such as 8D, Ishikawa etc.
• Reviewing and approving the company’s release documentation (e.g. CofC, FAIR)
• Active part of the NPI gated process
• Conducting supplier audits, appraisals and supplier approvals
• Assisting and contributing to the Contract Review process
• Collate KPIs for Business Reviews
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting quality awareness and accountability throughout the organisation

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Lead auditor / internal & supplier auditor
• Lean Six Sigma Green belt
• Working knowledge of quality engineering in AS9100 production and project environment
• Proven and demonstrable ability in problem solving tools and non-conformance management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide clear and concise technical communications to internal teams, suppliers and external customers.
