An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Quality Engineer in Portsmouth to join a high-performing manufacturing team.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring products and processes meet strict customer and industry standards. You’ll be a key driver in maintaining compliance, enhancing operational yield, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer job in Portsmouth:

  • Ensure proper flow-down of customer requirements to production and test operations.

  • Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions to drive yield improvement and reduce quality escapes.

  • Support the deployment of the ERP system to accurately capture process requirements on production routers.

  • Conduct process audits and complete FAIR reports in line with AS9102 standards.

  • Compile customer data packs as needed and support quality software system utilisation.

Required Experience and Skills for the Quality Engineer job in Portsmouth:

  • 3–5 years of technical experience in a Manufacturing Quality or similar environment.

  • Background in aerospace, defence, microelectronics, or other regulated industries preferred.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 and MIL-Specs/Standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, practical approach.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred).

  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing facility.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
