Job Title:

Inspector

Basic Salary – up to 25K plus shift / O/time

Inspection Team Leader / Quality Manager

Summary:

Aligned to Quality department you will be responsible for day-to-day internal inspection of manufactured and supplied parts and materials working on a rotating shift pattern to meet production demands.

Scope; Goods inwards inspection, despatch, production, first-off, final inspection to relevant inspection specifications.

Day to Day responsibilities include:

Inspection of partially and fully completed assemblies, to engineering drawing requirements.

Conduct patrol inspection across process areas, to ensure compliance to drawing and process.

Raise Non-conformances detected within goods-in inspection and support production-detected nonconformities when required.

Work closely with Inspection team leader, process engineers and quality team to identify corrective solutions when out of specification issues are identified

Provide ad-hoc business support against specific demand for inspection/measurement of product where required.

Review completed supplier generated FAIs.

Compile FAIRs for internal work to provide evidence of conformity of process and product.

Maintain company systems with relevant inspection information and keep all physical and digital files up to date.

Support development of systems to improve efficiencies within inspection department

Supporting creation of work instructions and SOPs for consistent inspection techniques

Other Responsibilities:

Condition monitoring of inspection equipment

Supporting management of calibration of inspection equipment

Supporting development of inspection techniques and capabilities

Key Skills:

  • Experienced inspection background.
  • Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship.
  • Experienced working within AS9100rev D, / ISO9001:2015 quality certified organisation
  • Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements
  • Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experience in use of CMM inspection equipment
  • Experienced in use of conventional inspection equipment.
  • Experienced in use of cad systems to view 3D components (i.e. Solid View)
  • Experienced in use of Microsoft office

Desirables:

  • Automotive, Manufacturing background must have completed training and experienced in using automotive core tools
  • Experienced working within AS9100rev D, ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015
  • Internal auditor training
