Employee:

Post: Quality Inspector – Maternity Cover (12 months)

Responsible to:

Internal Quality Engineer and in their absence the Quality Manager

Responsible for:

N/A

Purpose:

To support the Quality department with all Final Inspection tasks.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Fixed Term -Maternity Cover

• Conduct Final Inspection, ensuring that production goods are inspected to the required standard
• Ensure all material that is non-conformant is rejected
• Liaise with Quality Department on all issues relating to units that fail final inspection
• Complete Inspection Reports
• Scanning and filing all Job Packs
• Always maintain professionalism, providing support within the department and across the business as is reasonably required
• Ensure compliance to company and legislative policies and procedures
• Take on any other responsibilities or tasks whenever reasonably instructed

Key Requirements

• Quality Inspection experience (essential)
• Ability to read drawings & specifications and relate them to the product to determine conformity
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles (preferred)
• Able to measure parts using basic metrology concepts and record them against drawings
• Eye for detail
• Able to confidently inspect and measure parts with accuracy, using the most appropriate method and equipment
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills
• Computer literate, competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.)
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T (preferred)

Salary: £Dependant on experience + Bonus, Pension, 25 days annual holiday
