NEW SENIOR ELECTRONIC DESIGN ENGINEER JOB AVAILABLE IN HUNTINGDON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

A research and development organisation based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, which was founded over 50 years ago, and 200+ employees are looking to expand their engineering team. They are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer – Analogue/Digital to join them in their next phase of new product development. This job comes with a clear career path into engineering management.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Design high-technology electronic instrumentation from initial concept through to prototype.
  • Work as part of a team on system designs, requirements capture and creation from specification.
  • Support and work closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and scientists.
  • Lead and mentor junior hardware / electronic engineers.
  • Create reports and documentation where necessary.

 

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Strong skills in both high-speed digital design and analogue circuit design.
  • Able to write firmware to a basic level (8-bit microcontroller design using embedded C).
  • Experience in prototyping, modelling, testing and debugging electronics.
  • Ability to mentor junior and mid-level electronic design engineers.
  • Exposure to FPGA design using VHDL would be beneficial but not essential.  
  • Exposure to EMC testing would beneficial but not essential.

Their Engineering Headquarters in Huntingdon is commutable from parts of Cambridge, St Ives, St Neots, Peterborough, Kettering, Bedford, and Corby.
