A well-established research and development business are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team in Maidenhead, Berkshire. This is a hybrid role with the team working on site 3 days per week.
As the Senior Embedded Software Engineer you will be one of the most experienced members of the R&D team, investigating new technologies to develop the next generation of products that are used to keep people safe every day. You will be continually developing your own skills and knowledge of new technologies whilst helping to create a pipeline of ideas.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Embedded Software Engineer job:
- Working collaboratively with a team of software and electronic engineers and the Engineering Manager
- Design and development of new product concepts and solutions including requirements specification and architectural definition
- Provide leadership of a small team of software and electronics engineers on design projects and mentor more junior team members
- Develop embedded software and firmware, primarily in C
- Define test procedures, support user and field testing and ensure that detailed design records are maintained
Key skills / requirements of the Senior Embedded Software Engineer job:
- Extensive experience of the full product design life cycle
- Solid experience of software programming (Embedded C)
- Experience of helping to run design projects
- Knowledge of electronics design processes and board bring up
- Experience working with IoT/connected devices
