A leading research and development organisation based in Surrey are continuously investing heavily into their R&D team. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, where you’ll be working on developing world class products and holistic, scalable solutions that harness their expertise in electrification through using advanced technology solutions such as silicon carbide.

These products will ensure the reliability and quality of the company’s products that are sold into a broad range of industry sectors including vehicle electrification, telemetry, and analytical solutions.

The successful Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be working for a well-known global technology business.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Power Electronics Engineer job:

  • To drive new developments in Power electronics
  • To design energy recovery systems, including DC/DC, inverters and BMS systems
  • Architect hardware design solutions Participate in defining the company’s technology strategy in Power electronics
  • Perform design reviews across a variety of applications
  • Mentor junior engineers Support technical pre-sale activities on an ad-hoc basis

Responsibilities of the Senior Power Electronics Engineer:

  • Will have experience of Power electronic design with high voltages 
  • Can mix Power electronic design with analogue sensor interfaces
  • Have knowledge of how to optimise circuit design for ease of manufacture and production test
  • Are able to take designs from concept through to market, working to challenging timescales
  • Are able to optimise component design to maximise efficiency, package density, reliability and thermal performance
  • Can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including hardware, software, mechanical and systems engineers

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer

  • Have a first class or upper 2nd honours degree in a relevant electrical or electronic engineering subject, or equivalent experience.
