Senior Power Electronics Engineer
My client is global supplier of battery systems and power management solutions. They are currently investing heavily into products for the renewable energy industry using green technology and advanced switching / power conversion techniques.
They have over 30 manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide servicing over 10,000 customers in more than 100 countries. Worldwide headquarters are in Reading, PA, USA with regional headquarters in Europe and Asia.
With over 100 years of power electronics and battery experience, they provide full solutions for stored DC power products.
They are now looking to add to their Renewable Energy Design group which includes electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software engineers. This Senior Power Electronics Engineer position is based in Bellingham, WA. This is a development engineering position which offers a significant opportunity for innovation and creativity. You will be working with a team to introduce photovoltaic charge controllers and grid tie inverters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer:
- Power converter and inverter system modelling, simulation, and design.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Collaborative work in a team environment
- Manage projects for product development and product improvement.
- Provide technical support to Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Service, Purchasing, Quality, and other Engineering groups
Essential qualifications needed for the Senior Power Electronics Engineer position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- A few years of industrial experience as a Power Electronics Design Engineer
Desired experience for the Senior Power Electronics Engineer position:
- Experience with energy storage or renewable energy systems is desired
- Experience with electrical systems / batteries including standard measurement and safety equipment for voltages up to 1000Vdc / 600Vac
- High frequency magnetics design
- Experience with the DSP for power converters
