Job: Senior Power Electronics / Power Supply Engineer
The client I’m representing are pushing the boundaries with what you can do with switch-mode power supplies and their Power Electronics Engineers and SMPS Designers are regarded as some of the best in the world.
They are Britain’s largest designer and manufacturer of both standard and configurable AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies developing AC-DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, Programmable (Laboratory) power supplies and EMC/EMI filters to the global technology market/
Their team in Exeter work on advanced power switching solutions for various industries. This means you could be working on a next generation MRI scanner one day and a self-contained electrical power system for space applications the next.
They are looking for experienced Senior Power Electronic Engineers will experience in the following areas:
Knowledge of power electronics rectification / converter topologies;
Ability to assess different power topologies on an application-by-application basis
Magnetics (power transformers, inductors) design
Understanding of power semiconductor characteristics
Analogue circuit design
Schematic capture and PCB layout
