New Test Development Engineer role near Edinburgh, Scotland!!
The Client a leading R&D company that focuses on the design and manufacture of Medical Electronic Devices / Systems. Following another incredibly successful year we have more projects coming in that ever before. We see this as an opportunity to expand and invest more into our R&D facilities. As part of that we are looking for an Test Development Engineer to join their team.
In this role you will work very closely within test department and liaise with Design/manufacturing to ensure planned project activities are compliant with medical standards. You will work on complex Electronic device technology and develop complex electro-mechanical devices / systems for healthcare and life science applications. This Test Development Engineer role comes with the opportunity to work on the development of ground-breaking Electronic technology. What you will do as Test Development Engineer:
- Develop and implement functional test solutions that satisfy the customer’s product test requirements.
- Development activities include test specification analysis, test system design, software development, and mechanical design.
- Implementation activities include system integration, software coding and debugging, test system build support, installation, user training, and start-up support.
- Test performance characterization includes test coverage, programming/calibration functions, automation, repeatability, reliability, safety, ergonomics, and supportability
Essential Skills for the Test Development Engineer:
- Bachelor of Engineering/Science degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent with at least 5+ years of working experience
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in functional test equipment development.
- Possess good programming skill with at least one programming language like C++, LabView, and others.
- Strong in circuit and test specification analysis and be able to develop technical expertise quickly when exposing to different functional test requirement like Environment Stress Screen (ESS) test, PCBA level functional test, High Level Assembly (HLA) functional test and others.
- Expert in handling and remotely control the measurement instrument like Digital Multimeter (DMM), Oscilloscope, Controllable Power Supply, LCR meter and other measurement instrument.
