Reports To:      Senior Software Engineer / CTO

 

Position:    Permanent upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period

 

Hours:         9am – 5pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch

 

Salary:   £35,000 – £45,000 dependent of experience of successful applicant

 

Holiday Entitlement:   Year 1      20 Days

Year 2      23 Days

Year 3 +   25 Days

 

Pension Scheme:   Company pays 5% of salary into a scheme with employee contributions

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the growing Activinsights team. Working alongside experienced engineers, the individual will have the opportunity to contribute to a broad range of activities including new product developments and the company data infrastructure.

 

This is a role that supports the development of Activinsightsmedical device wearables and insight services within the clinical, healthcare, and academic markets. The role is central to the progression of the company into regulated clinical trials markets and will support the global commercialisation of innovative products and services.

 

Candidate Attributes

 

Educated to a graduate or equivalent level in a technical or scientific discipline, you will be numerate with good communication skills. You will be proficient in the creation of software code with proven abilities in either C, C# or R. You will have a good appreciation of and enthusiasm for the physical and clinical sciences.

 

Your career so far may have included work within a customer services team, software engineering in a technical function, research data analysis or more operational computer science tasks. You will have demonstrated a good attention to detail while understanding the wider impact of your work.

 

This is a broad role – the successful candidate will have demonstrated their commitment and ability to work as part of a team and grow themselves within the role. Training will be provided (internally, in-role and externally as needed) to support the development of the individual.

 

Previous experience in life sciences, the Microsoft cloud environment (365, Azure, DevOps), database/SQL or time-series data analysis would be advantageous.

 

Responsibilities

  • Development of statistical analysis code to convert sensor data into digital clinical measures
  • Contingency support for the running and maintenance of .NET-based server
  • Development of dedicated software modules for on-device firmware
  • Providing technical support for the implementation of ISO27001 data management
  • Supporting customers with issues and queries on our deployed software and services
  • Supporting staff with general computing issues and queries
  • Working with IT security to maintain good cyber protection practices and infrastructure
  • Supporting regulatory compliance for all products and services
  • Other computing and technical duties within a small, growing, and friendly team

 

 

You will work with:

 

  • the technical development team to support the innovation and development of new products and services
  • the customer services team to support customer training, onboarding and technical enquires
  • the commercial team to understand client needs and propose solutions
  • the Quality Manager to ensure software is developed to medical device standards.
