Our client are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Software QA & Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in Gloucestershire. As a Software QA & Test Engineer, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of scalable and optimized test systems for state-of-the-art robotic equipment. You’ll collaborate with other software professionals within a larger multifunctional engineering team. Responsibilities:

• Design and create automated tests for software applications as a Software QA & Test Engineer.
• Review design documentation and tests of other team members, ensuring the highest quality in your role as a Software QA & Test Engineer.
• Gather test requirements from stakeholders, a crucial task for a Software QA & Test Engineer.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and engineering projects, demonstrating your versatility as a Software QA & Test Engineer.
• Perform tests and troubleshooting in deployed testing environments.

Musts:

• Proven working experience in software test engineering.
• Ability to design functional tests from requirements and high-level design documents.
• Work collaboratively with firmware engineers to identify and resolve issues.
• Proficiency in C# language and shell scripting (PowerShell).
• Familiarity with the development of PiL/HiL systems using NI hardware & software.
• Knowledge of NI TestStand, NI VeriStand, NI LabVIEW.

Desirable:

• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with test frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Agile SW Development methodologies, Unit Testing, Continuous Integration, and DevOps.
• Knowledge of additional XiL in the loop testing methodologies, e.g., Software in the Loop (SiL).
• Experience with modeling, specifically Mathworks – Matlab, Simulink.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.

Education and Experience:

BEng or BSc or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
