Job: Senior Systems Engineer – Rails (Power Electronics)
New components and topologies are allowing technology companies to push the boundaries of what you can do with typical power supplies which means new, ground-breaking products are starting to hit the market.
My client, who are based in the West Midlands, UK are looking for bright engineers who want to see exactly how far they can take this technology.
They are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer – Rails (Power Electronics) who will be responsible for designing power electronics systems for the railway market. You will see the product go from concept stage through to production.
Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Engineer – Rails (Power Electronics)
- Research on cutting-edge technology and market demand for power electronics converter, and form phased research report.
- Responsible for system design for prototype development of power electronics converter, including but not limited to system technology requirements analysis, system solution design, system simulation optimization.
- System integration, including source and procurement of components, coordination and participation in prototyping.
- System integration testing, including test programming, test results collation and review;
Ideally as a Senior Systems Engineer – Rails (Power Electronics) you will need to have experience in the following areas:
- Power electronics and the other related education and industry background.
- 3-5 years of working experience in power electronics, PhD degree with at least 3 years related experience, or a master’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience;
- Rich experience in hardware design of power electronic converter projects based on IGBT or SiC MOSFET at 1200V voltage level or above;
- Familiar with the basic process of development of power electronics converter
